Can I hire a voiceover studio in Dublin by the hour?
Yes. SG Studios hires the audio booth in Dublin 15 by the hour, the half day or the full day. The minimum is one hour, so a thirty second ad read does not need a half day booking.
How much does it cost to record a voiceover in Dublin?
Studio time at SG Studios is €90 an hour plus VAT, €310 for a half day and €560 for a full day, with the engineer included. There are no usage fees and no licensing charges on top.
Do you provide a voice artist, or do I bring my own?
You bring the reader, whether that is you, a colleague or a voice artist you have hired. We supply the booth, the microphone and the engineer, which keeps your cost to studio time only. Spoken word, not music or singing.
Is a recording studio better than recording a voiceover at home?
For anything published, yes. A home room adds hum, traffic and echo. Noise reduction removes those and thins your voice at the same time. Play the two clips on this page to hear the difference.
What should I bring to my first voiceover session?
Your script, and a drive if you want the files before you leave. Nothing else. Email the script ahead and we will agree how to say any names or technical terms before your session starts.
